Audi tyre change
Audi-approved tyres carry an AO marking, and RS models often use RO1 tyres developed for their higher performance. Most Audis in the UAE, including the Q5, Q7, Q8 and A6, have quattro all-wheel drive, which means all four tyres should be replaced together and kept at similar tread depth.

The Q7 and Q8 run large 20 to 22 inch tyres such as 285/45 R21, and their weight and power wear tyres faster than a typical crossover. For the A4 and A6, a premium touring or UHP tyre with AO marking keeps the car's composed highway feel at 120 to 140 km/h.
- Look for AO or RO1 on the sidewall to match Audi's original specification.
- Replace all four tyres together on quattro models.
- Q7 and Q8 tyres need high load ratings; XL is common.

FAQ
Questions drivers ask us
What does AO mean on an Audi tyre?
AO means the tyre is approved by Audi for that model. RO1 is used on many RS models.
Do I need to replace all four tyres on an Audi quattro?
It is strongly recommended. Large tread depth differences make the quattro system work harder and can cause wear in the drivetrain.
What tyre size does an Audi Q7 use?
The current Q7 commonly uses 285/45 R20, with 255/55 R19 on base trims and 285/40 R21 or 285/35 R22 on larger wheels.
New tyres for your Audi?
We reply with prices for budget, mid-range and premium options, then send a technician to wherever the car is.
