Performance

Kumho's best road performer is the Ecsta PS71, which gives good dry grip and responsive steering at a price well below most rivals. It does not match Michelin or Continental in wet braking, but it is a clear step up from budget brands.

The Ecsta HS52 is a balanced sport-touring tyre for compact cars, and the Solus TA31 is a comfortable everyday tyre. The Crugen HP71 is a quiet SUV tyre, while the Road Venture AT52 provides basic off-road traction for pickups and 4x4s.

Durability

Kumho tread life is reasonable for the price. A Solus TA31 on a Corolla commonly lasts 35,000–45,000 km in UAE conditions, and the Crugen HP71 on a Tucson or Sportage typically gives 40,000–50,000 km.

The Ecsta PS71, as a performance tyre, usually lasts 25,000–35,000 km. Because Kumho tyres are often bought on price, check the DOT date carefully, as older stock sometimes appears in the market at discounted prices.

In UAE conditions

Kumho tyres handle UAE heat adequately when kept at correct pressure, but they are less tolerant of underinflation than premium tyres. Check pressure monthly, especially before long trips on the E11 at 120–140 km/h in summer.

For desert use, the Road Venture AT52 handles light sand and graded tracks but is less robust than the Toyo or Yokohama all-terrain options for heavy dune driving. Kumho's road tyres should stay on tarmac.

Typical price per tyre

Typical UAE price per Kumho tyre with mobile fitting for 16–20 inch sizes. Solus TA31 for small cars is near the bottom; Ecsta PS71 and Crugen HP71 in 20 inch sizes reach the top. We confirm the exact quote on WhatsApp after you share the size.

Kumho operates plants in South Korea, China, Vietnam and the United States (Macon, Georgia). It supplies OE tyres to Hyundai, Kia, and several European and American carmakers, and its Ecsta sports line has a long history in motorsport, including one-make series and endurance racing.

In the UAE, Kumho is positioned as a lower mid-range brand: cheaper than Hankook and Japanese brands, but with better consistency and wet grip than most budget imports. It is a popular choice for daily commuters, fleet vehicles and owners of Korean cars.
