Performance

Maxxis performance depends heavily on model age. The Victra Sport 5 and Premitra HP5 are modern designs with good wet braking and stable highway behaviour, while older patterns such as the Bravo HP-M3 feel less precise and take longer to stop on wet roads.

Off-road, the Bravo AT-771 offers more grip on gravel and sand than its price suggests, thanks to large shoulder blocks and a stiff carcass.

Durability

Maxxis tyres usually last 40,000–55,000 km on UAE sedans and 45,000–60,000 km on SUVs and pickups. The Bravo AT-771 uses a cut-and-chip resistant compound that copes well with construction-site gravel and unpaved farm roads in Al Ain and the Northern Emirates.

The Victra Sport 5 wears faster, around 30,000–40,000 km, because of its softer performance compound.

In UAE conditions

Maxxis is a practical choice for UAE work vehicles and family SUVs. Hilux and Navara pickups used on construction sites benefit from the AT-771's tough tread, and it handles light desert sand at 18–20 PSI. On the highway at 120 km/h the brand is stable, though noisier than Japanese alternatives.

Because pickups often run near full load in summer, set pressures to the load figure on the door placard, not the unladen figure.

Typical price per tyre

Typical fitted price per tyre: AED 220–330 for 15–17 inch sedan sizes, AED 320–500 for 18–19 inch performance sizes and AED 380–750 for SUV, pickup and all-terrain sizes. Confirmed on WhatsApp.

Maxxis is best known globally for bicycle, motorcycle and ATV tyres, where it is a market leader, but its car and SUV range has grown steadily. In the UAE the brand is bought mostly for SUVs and pickups through the Bravo range, and for sedans through the Premitra and Victra lines.

The Victra Sport 5 (VS5) is the brand's European-developed performance tyre and has delivered respectable results in German and British magazine tests, typically finishing ahead of Chinese budget brands and close to Korean mid-range rivals.

Maxxis prices in the Gulf are roughly 35–50 percent below premium brands, which makes it a frequent choice for fleet SUVs, Hilux pickups and owners who want a known manufacturer without paying Japanese prices.

Is Maxxis good for desert driving?

The Maxxis Bravo AT-771 handles light to moderate UAE desert driving when aired down to around 15–18 PSI. For frequent deep-dune driving, a BFGoodrich KO2/KO3 or Falken Wildpeak has a more forgiving sidewall.

Maxxis vs Hankook: which is better?

Hankook generally leads Maxxis in passenger-car comfort and test results, while Maxxis is often 10–20 percent cheaper and stronger value in pickup and all-terrain sizes. For a sedan choose Hankook; for a work pickup Maxxis is hard to beat on price.
