Wheel alignment sets the angles of each wheel, called toe, camber and caster, back to the manufacturer's specification so the car tracks straight and the tyres wear evenly. It needs a computerised alignment rig on a level platform, so unlike our other services it cannot be done properly from a van; we carry it out at a partner workshop and can collect the car or arrange a time for you to drive in.
Alignment is the most common fix for a car that pulls to one side, a steering wheel that sits off-centre, or tyres that wear on one edge. In the UAE, frequent speed bumps in villa communities, kerb strikes in tight parking and potholes on construction-zone diversions knock alignment out more often than many drivers expect.
The price depends on the vehicle and is confirmed on WhatsApp. We recommend an alignment check whenever you fit new tyres, because a misaligned car can scrub thousands of kilometres off a new set within months.
Why alignment is done at a workshop, not on a van
Accurate wheel alignment needs a level, calibrated platform and camera targets, because a measurement error of a fraction of a degree is enough to wear a tyre unevenly. A sloping driveway or basement ramp makes that accuracy impossible, which is why we do not offer a so-called mobile alignment.
We pair our mobile tyre fitting with partner workshops that have modern alignment rigs. You can have new tyres fitted at home in the morning and the car collected for alignment the same day.
Reading tyre wear patterns
Uneven tyre wear is the clearest evidence of misalignment, and each pattern points to a different angle. Checking your tread with a coin or gauge across the inner, centre and outer ribs tells you a lot before you visit any workshop.
- Feathered edges across the tread: incorrect toe
- Inner edge worn on both fronts: excessive negative camber or toe-out
- Outer edge worn: positive camber or hard cornering habits
- Centre worn: overinflation, not alignment
- Scalloped dips: worn shock absorbers or imbalance
What misalignment costs you
A car with toe out of specification by just a few millimetres can drag each front tyre sideways several metres for every kilometre driven. Over a year of UAE commuting that can halve the life of a set of tyres, which on an SUV costs far more than an alignment.
Misalignment also raises fuel use slightly through extra rolling resistance, and makes the car less stable during emergency braking on the highway.
Alignment vs balancing
Alignment corrects the direction the wheels point; balancing corrects uneven weight around the wheel that causes vibration. A car that pulls needs alignment; a steering wheel that shakes at 100–120 km/h usually needs balancing.
Balancing can be done on our van at your location, while alignment needs the workshop rig. Many drivers book both when fitting new tyres.
