800 Tires supplies and fits run flat tyres at your location in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, using mounting equipment suited to stiff sidewalls. Fitting labour is from AED 100 per visit; tyres are quoted by size on WhatsApp.
How to tell if your car has run flats
Run flat tyres carry a marking on the sidewall that varies by brand: RSC or RFT (Bridgestone and others), SSR (Continental), ZP (Michelin), ROF (Goodyear and Dunlop), DSST (Dunlop) or a run flat symbol. BMW-approved run flats also carry a star (★).
If the boot floor holds no spare and no sealant kit, the car was almost certainly delivered on run flats.
- TPMS is required: run flats hide pressure loss visually
- Check the owner's manual for the zero-pressure distance
Can a run flat tyre be repaired
Most tyre and car manufacturers advise against repairing a run flat that has been driven at low or zero pressure, because internal sidewall damage cannot be fully assessed. Some allow a standard tread repair if the TPMS warned early and the tyre was not run deflated.
Our technician demounts the tyre, inspects the inner sidewall for heat marks and creasing, and follows the tyre maker's guidance.
- Driven deflated: replace
- Caught early, tread puncture, manufacturer permits: repair possible
Run flats in UAE heat
A run flat driven on zero pressure generates heat in the sidewall, and on 60–70°C summer roads the safe distance can be shorter than the rated figure. Treat the 80 km rating as a maximum to reach the nearest safe stop, not a target.
Run flats also ride firmer than standard tyres, and their stiff sidewalls make kerb and pothole damage less visible, so inspect them after any heavy impact.
- Reduce speed to 60–70 km/h on a deflated run flat in summer
- Book a replacement before the next highway trip
Switching from run flats to standard tyres
Some owners switch to standard tyres for a softer ride and lower price, which is legal but means the car loses its puncture mobility. If you switch, carry a sealant and compressor kit or a compatible spare, because there is otherwise no way to continue after a puncture.
Suspension on run-flat cars is tuned for stiff sidewalls, so standard tyres can change handling slightly; many owners find the change positive for comfort.
- Never mix run flat and standard tyres on the same axle
- Typical price saving: 20–40 percent per tyre
Fitting run flats correctly
Run flats need a tyre machine with a bead-pressing aid because their sidewalls are too stiff for hand levers, which can tear the bead or scratch alloy rims. Our vans carry leverless or assist-arm mounting equipment for this reason.
After fitting, TPMS sensors are checked and the system reset where the car requires it.
- Star-marked tyres for BMW where specified
- Balanced on the van, torqued to spec
