The Pilot Sport 5, launched in 2022, replaced the Pilot Sport 4 as Michelin's everyday sports tyre for 17 to 20 inch wheels. It uses a dual-compound tread with a stiffer outer shoulder for cornering and a grippier inner section for braking.
Michelin claims the PS5 retains its performance longer than the PS4 as it wears, which matches what we see on Golf GTI and BMW 3 Series owners who keep tyres three years.
